4D View Solutions provides a complete hardware and software platform for the capture of photorealistic videos in three dimensions. The system uses a number of static video cameras coupled with controlling workstations to accomplish this. The system enables you to film a dynamic scene and output a photorealistic 3D video of the filmed subject of the scene for offline applications and analysis. The subject is filmed with multiple video cameras. The subject may be an actor, a scene, or an object. Filming is possible in a variety of different environmental conditions.

3D Video frame

Based on the video inputs, the subject is reconstructed as a three dimensional model along with its associated color and texture data. At the heart of the system is a silhouette-based 3D reconstruction method that builds a collection of thousands of polygons describing the filmed subject. 3D Capturing is the process of converting a dynamic scene into a 3D representation. This 3D representation is composed of a sequence of frames. Each frame is composed of a 3D mesh representing the geometry of the capturing scene and a list of textures representing the color appearance of the scene. This 3D representation is called 3D Video. The 3D Video can be generated in several different formats and can be used with third party software depending on format compatibility.
